Arsenal and West Ham are discussing the transfer of Declan Rice.
The clubs are close to agreeing a price for the player, as it was reported by The Guardian. It is expected that Arsenal will pay more than £100 million with bonuses for the midfielder.
West Ham have accepted that they will lose Rice, and Arsenal are ready to make him the most expensive player in their history. An official offer has not yet been submitted, but negotiations between the clubs are at the advanced stage. The deal will likely be completed soon.
According to the sources, the chance that one of Arsenal’s competitors will try to sign the midfielder is decreasing. Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Newcastle and Manchester United were interested in Rice, but Arsenal is acting most persistently to buy him.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta believes that Rice will help the team in the fight for the Premier League championship. In order to give the midfielder a place on the field, Arteta is ready to allow Granit Xhaka to join Bayer.
