UEFA has started proceedings due to José Mourinho’s insults to the referee of the UEL final.
In the Europa League final, Roma led by Mourinho lost to Sevilla in a penalty shootout (1-4). The full time ended with a score of 1-1.
After the match, Mourinho shouted to the English referee in the Puskas Arena parking lot: “F****** disgrace man, it’s a f****** disgrace.”
At a press conference after the game, the Portuguese specialist said that “the referee seemed to be a Spaniard,” and also stated: “I hope the referee stays in the Champions League, where he will do the same stuff that he did today, and leave us and the Europa League alone.”
UEFA has opened a disciplinary case against Mourinho for using ‘insulting/abusive language against a match official’.
